Police Care Australia is a joint initiative of the National Police Memorial and the National Police Federation of Australia to refer, support and educate police both serving and former along with their families and friends on all aspects of mental health and wellbeing.

New Safe Haven service for Illawarra and Shoalhaven to help those in suicidal crisis

For people who are in crises this safe haven offers a drop in centre staffed by peer workers as an alternative to attending Hospital.

Suicide Callback Service

The suicide callback service provides national 24/7 online and phone counselling, advice, support and resources for anyone experiencing emotional or mental health issues who are at risk of suicide. Support services and resources are also available for family and friends of those living with emotional or mental health challenges or who are bereaved by suicide.

Lifeline Australia

Lifeline provides 24/7 telephone crises and suicide prevention support to people feeling isolated, worried, anxious or having a difficult time. Information and support is also available for friends or loved ones with concerns about how to talk to or support someone in crises or who might be at risk of self-harm. Chat and text services are also available between 12pm and 6am daily with downloadable resources available via their website.

Standby – Support after suicide

24-hour telephone and counselling support and resources for individuals, families, friends, witnesses, first responders and service providers who have been impacted by suicide.

Phoenix Australia

Research based centre for post traumatic health education, services and materials for industry best practice including the Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Acute Stress Disorder, Posttraumtic Stress Disorder and Complex PTSD. Specific services and links are available to Victorian and AFP police via the Bluehub.
